Class Prophecy

Good morning once more from "What's My Line,"
Your favorite TV show.
Today we'll see what's in store
For the senior class of '54.
So settle back for a while
And off we go at the turn of a dial!
 

Lee Davis Thames, who's always quite willin',
Is now on the Showboat playing the villin'!
Betty Tullos, who we thought was quiet,
Got a job on Bourbon Street and started a riot!
Bobby Ryan, who was always strutting and prancing,

Is the new owner of Arthur Murray's School of Dancin'!
Sherrill Herring, who's been posing since she could toddle,
Now is with Conover as his loveliest model!
 

Beau Beaufait and his band that's a honey,
Is now giving Les Brown a run for his money.
Sylvia Saunders, the redhead, who went across the sea,
Now she's the toast of gay Paree!
Edmund Cummins with voice so mellow and clear
Sings over the radio to advertise beer!
Jane Moore seems to be getting along;
She does the laughing in the "Woodpecker Song."
Bill Mallery is now in the Senate,
Debating and talking -- we know he'll win it.
 

Marilyn Randall with voice so loud
Is a barker at a circus and pullinga crowd!
Bob Kaufman has certainly astounded floks
By becoming Bob Hop's main writer of jokes!
Velma Dunning, our cute little miss,
Is now working as a psychiatrist!
Jack Biedenharn so handy with a paint brush
Is now making signs for Orange Crush.
 

Betsy and Pickett each day do tend.
Their many sets of identical twins!
Another member of the class, Hazel Buchholtz,
Is a carhop at Dixieland selling Cokes!
Kirby Wells, who seems rather lazy,
Really gets going on "Crazy Man Crazy!"
Remember the girl Betty Aldridge, always in a fix?
Well, now she's takin' the place of Dorothy Dix.
 

Richard Holman, too, has a place in the sun;
As an explorer in Afreca he really has fun!
Joan Barland, who at the piano has anything made,
Is now taking over Liberace's trade!
Who's driving that tractor?
Who's hauling that dirt?
Why, it's Kemper Meacham, Carr Central's number 1 flirt!
Our gal Carole Stout is really quite fast!
Driving a motorcycle she's never been passed!
 

What is this?  It couldn't be true!
Jimmy Wilson and Peggy have adopted "Little Lulu!"
Bobby Shackelford, our strong man,
Now tells you why to buy Serutan!
And would you believe Jean White has given up all her fun?
She's gone in a convent and now is a nun!
Colton Smith with all his knowledge
Is now head chef out at All Saints' College!
As a public stenographer Pat Bolin's a sensation;
She flirts with the boss while taking dictation!
 

Ernest Allen, known as the brain,
Now has taken over Dr. Einstein's fame!
A gal from the North was Glenna Gardner;
Now she's out West saying, "Howdy, Partner!"
Alfred Barfield, our man of the day
Has got all the women just fallin' his way!
Poor Sue Ferguson was left all along;
Now she's chief resident at the Old Ladies' Home!
Bill Fenwick still has kept his fottball fame,
He runs with the water for Notre Dame!
 

But the sweetest one of the crop
Is Joy Morgan, who now owns the Tasty Food Shop!
Benny Ross, who just loved dear ole C.C.H.S.,
Now has his seat at the pricipal's desk!
Helen Taylor is a famous poet;
She had the talent and didn't knowit.
Once an old maid was Natalie Letow;
Now she's ready to go, Go! Go!!
Mobrey Parker's at the top;
He's now a respectable traffic cop!
Gail Moorhead has made a big name;
As a Red Cross worker she's in the Hall of  Fame!
 

Eddie King, who was never romantic,
Now is a great lover, Keeps the girls in a panic!
Nancy Stepan finally passed the test,
She's in the movies as a second May West!
Clarence Lentz is a money maker;
He is a first class undertaker!
Our sweet little girl Martha Ledbetter
Is now her own baby sitter!
Bily Coile, so handy with tools,
Now has a job driving a team of mules!
Betty Keeling does the best she can--
She writes letters to the Hadacol man!
 

Buddy Williams, so ready to fuss,
Is the driver of a Greyhound Bus!
Annie Mae Slawson, a gal from the South,
Is now head of Mr. Vanderbilt's house!
Jimmy McCall every night gathers the dew,
Takes it with him to make "home brew!"
Carolyn Smith's done well; she was pretty smart;
She captured a welathy doctor's heart!
Bill Porter is really the thing!
He's jitterbug champin, King of Swing!

Time passed slowly by, but love never tarried.
 

Barger and Elanor are happily married!
Louis Haven is using her pretty blonde har,
To pose for Halo Shampoo ads--
don't everyone stare!
Carl Brock is known all over the land
Playing the sax in the "Red Top Band!"
Yes, we see Dot Wideman is wed,
And ten little kiddies crying to be fed!
Pete Barlow is on all the magazine covers.
He's one of the movies' greatest lovers!
 

Jeannette Ratcliff -- edits the Post
And gathers the news from coast to coast!
A boy so cute was James Leese;
He is now a Justice of the Peace!
Wyvette Dungan, a girl so sublime,
Is now a writer of nursery rhymes!
Bill Hallberg, our baseball star,
Has joined the Mudville Nine and really gone far!
Audrey Walker, a girls who's a honey,
Is now chief helper of the Easter Bunny!
 

Hugh Johnston, our man so good lookin',
Is now at Parkview doin' the cookin'!
Joylene is happy and serene.
She ought to be; she's married to Dean!
Jerry Carter, who was so very bold,
Occupies a wheel chair cause he's gotten too old!
Martha Roberts is now in her glory;
She's the cief editor of "My True Story!"
A boy so quiet was John Faulk:
He now works for NBC and does nothing but talk!
Margie Eskridge, a girl with good looks,
Writes "How to Get Your Man" books
 

Johnny DeCell, always a wit,
On "People Are Funny" is quite a hit!
Janice Penley, who never made much noise,
Is the head of a school for poise.
Carol Gerardy, that curly haired flirt,
At the Hotel Drug Store is the main soda jerk!
Carolyn Abraham, the girl with the wink
Is in New York modeling mink!
Gordon Kirkman's a success, as we knew he'd be;
He washes the windows at the A&P.
Mary Lou isn't griping;
She won the world's championship for speedy typing!
 

Jean Meade, always a baseball fan,
Has finally landed her a man!
As a lawyer Barry Henry should have gone far,
But the trouble was that he just couldn't pass the Bar!
Sonny Penley was making money by the bale,
But they caught him at it and now he's in jail!
Mary Ruth Smith was spotted in the senior play;
And now has a spon on Old Broadway!
Richard Monsour, over whom all the girls pine,
Is another Rudoph "Valentine!"
 

Sandra Lominick who's as cute as can be,
Is now at State studying Campusology!
Jean Wylie, a girls who's great,
Is a representative from our state!
 

Thus ends our program for today.
Bear in mind all we've had to say.
We'll have to wait to see what the future really holds for the class of '54,
But we hope all will have happiness and good luck galore!
