Perry B. Dennis, Jr., Associate Professor of Music and Associate Professor of Curriculum and Instruction, University of Southern Mississippi (Ret.), holds a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Mississippi State university, a Bachelor of Music Edication degree from VanderCook College of Music, a Master of Music (Music Education) degree from the University of Michigan, and a Doctor of Music Education degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He has been director of highly acclaimed bands at Starkville High School (Starkville, Mississippi), Carr Central High School (Vicksburg, Mississippi), Greenwood High School (Greenwood, Mississippi), and La Grange High School (Lake Charles, Louisiana). Offices held in Professional organizations include the presidency of what is now the Mississippi Bandmasters Association and the Mississippi Music Educators Association (two terms, 1950-1951 and 1974-1976). He has served as a clinician and an adjudicator in Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Alabama, and is a member of Phi Beta Mu, Phi Mu Alpha, Pi kappa Lambda, and Phi Delta kappa.
